First 50 Users

I consume all sorts of random articles, podcasts etc and somewhere in that mix I came across the concept of the first 50 users.

When creating a new product or service it can seem daunting. You have no users, no social media followers … and all your competitors seem to have thousands.

The initial aim shouldn’t be to acquire thousands of users - instead you should aim for 50. It’s a large enough number that you have to go beyound your circle of close friends and pitch it to strangers, but it’s also achievable.

If you can find 50 passionate users in the early days of a product, then that’s a solid foundation to build upon.
