Five essential industrial design books

Peter Saville book shelf

Growing up I admired designers and architects with expansive personal libraries who could seemingly pluck a relevant book out when the need arises.

It’s possible to build a useful design library much easier than that though.

These are the five books which have inspired me the most, or which I refer to regularly:

  1. Universal principles of design
  2. Manufacturing Processes for Design Professionals
  3. Sketching: Drawing Techniques for Product Designers
  4. Sketching User Experiences
  5. The Design of everyday things
